Ryeowook slowly slid the blanket off his slender frame and tried to sit up in his bed, making as minimal noise as possible. He winced when a bed spring creaked under his movements. He immediately shot a frantic glance at Yesung's bed, scared that the noise may have roused the elder from his slumber. Ryeowook needn't have worried; Yesung was still, his face buried in his huge turtle plush toy.
Ryeowook heaved a sigh of relief and hauled himself off his bed. Tiptoeing his way to the door, he paused when he felt a pair of eyes watching him. Whipping his head around in panic, he soon found the cause of his distress. Ddangkoma blinked mutely at Ryeowook, its eyes following him sleepily from inside its tank.
Waving his hand, Ryeowook motioned for the turtle to look away and go back to sleep. To his surprise, the turtle unhurriedly crawled back into its box, as if it had understood Ryeowook's message.
Closing the door with a slight click, Ryeowook hurried into the kitchen to pour two glasses of milk. He gripped the two glasses firmly as he carefully slalomed around the living room furniture. It was rather a difficult task as the faint glow from the balcony was the only source of light in the whole apartment.
In the middle of the balcony, a tall, lean figure was crouched against the railing. When Ryeowook let out a faint cough, the man turned around and welcomed Ryeowook with a knowing smile. His eyes landed on the glasses of milk in Ryeowook's hands and he snorted derisively.
"Milk?" Kyuhyun chuckled as Ryeowook leaned next to him and handed him a glass.
Ryeowook rolled his eyes and took a sip of milk. "No alcohol for you in the middle of the night."
Kyuhyun shrugged and brought the glass to his lips. The pair remained silent for a moment, enjoying their milk and the quiet Seoul nightscape when Kyuhyun spoke up.
"How's Sungmin-hyung's mission going?" He inquired, not taking his eyes off the buildings.
"He told me that he's going to up the ante," Ryeowook replied, and immediately he shuddered at the possibilities.
Kyuhyun's lips curled up in amusement. "I wonder what he meant by that..."
"Anyway," Kyuhyun continued, turning to face Ryeowook. "Yesung-hyung's still clueless about this whole mission but he knows that Sungmin-hyung is after him. But I think he's still unsure about Sungmin-hyung's feelings towards him."
Ryeowook sighed and shook his head wearily. "He really puts the 'oblivious' in 'Seducing Mr. Oblivious'. Why can't he just realise that Sungmin-hyung feels the same for him?"
Kyuhyun gave Ryeowook a wry smile. "Because he's Yesung-hyung. He'll forever be insecure about it until the proof hits him right in the face."
"I guess so," Ryeowook sighed yet again. He clasped Kyuhyun softly on the back and headed back towards the kitchen, indicating that their discussion was over.
"Good night, Ryeowook," Kyuhyun called out.
"Night, Kyuhyun-ah," Ryeowook echoed.
"Alright, guys," Leeteuk paced distractedly in front of the rest of the SJH members. "We're going to have a performance next Sunday at the new stadium, and of course, we'll be performing our latest single, 'Pajama Party'."
Everyone else, who was sprawled on the sofa and armchairs, gave a murmur of acknowledgment and Leeteuk soon continued.
"Rehearsal's going to be in the afternoon on the very same day so please don't make any plans," Leeteuk went on.
Shindong's shoulders slumped disconsolately. "I was thinking of seeing Nari that Sunday..."
Leeteuk sighed and flashed an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, Donghee, but work's work."
Reaching over from his spot in Yesung's lap, Sungmin patted Shindong's shoulder comfortingly. "There's always another time, Dongie."
Yesung nodded in agreement, absently playing with a lock of Sungmin's hair. "Nari will understand."
"That's all. You guys are dismissed!" Leeteuk clapped his hands and the rest of the members dispersed, off to their respective rooms or dorm.
A faint crease appeared on Leeteuk's forehead as he watched Yesung and Sungmin. Sungmin was tugging at Yesung's hand playfully, trying to drag him in the other direction while Yesung, playing along, pretended to struggle. Yesung soon stopped pretending and pulled Sungmin into a hug. Sungmin giggled happily and squirmed in Yesung's firm grip, imploring the other to let him go.
The fine line soon disappeared and the corners of Leeteuk's mouth upturned to form a smile.
Rehearsals were always the same. Rushed (with some of the members hurriedly chauffeured from a prior engagement), but always fun. Random high-fives, tripping on each other's feet (mostly Yesung), sneaky pants pulling and playful skinship were part and parcel of Super Junior's rehearsals.
During Yesung's part, with everyone else in SJH slowly creeping up behind him, a idea suddenly popped into Sungmin's head.
He mentally congratulated himself at how perfect it was.
As the music played, Sungmin danced methodically, executing all the dance moves without much thought. A sly smirk played on his lips as Yesung's part drew nearer and nearer.
Yesung stood in the middle of the stage, singing his line with much gusto. His eyes were shut as he was deeply into the moment, so he didn't see Sungmin approaching him.
Yesung's eyes shot wide open when he felt something caressing his torso. He looked down to find Sungmin's hand moving downwards progressively. Sungmin wasn't looking at him; he was facing the audience, with his tongue stuck out cheekily.
It took Yesung almost all of his willpower not to react and he turned to the audience instead, smiling sheepishly at the crowd. Near the end of the performance, Yesung's and Sungmin's gazes locked for a split second.
Sungmin winked coyly at him. Yesung could only manage a weak smile.
At the end of the performance, Yesung scurried to the dressing room and grabbed his cell phone. Half-walking, half-running out of the door, he mumbled a quick "IthinkIhaveastomachache!" to the leader, who was about to ask what on earth was he up to.
Leeteuk could only shake his head at Yesung's behaviour. Yesung was inexplicably weird (eccentric, Leeteuk immediately corrected himself) most of the time so Leeteuk didn't try to stop him.
Spying the ever-so-inviting white sofa in the corner of the room, Leeteuk dragged his legs and plonked himself onto the soft leather. He closed his eyes, thankful for the reprieve.
Eunhyuk sank into the sofa a few seconds after him, and immediately rested his head in Leeteuk's lap. Shifting to arrange himself in a more comfortable position, Eunhyuk soon fell asleep, with Leeteuk idly patting his side.
Leeteuk's eyelids soon fluttered open when he heard Sungmin giggling to himself at the other end of the dressing room. He was sitting in an armchair, and was keying some numbers into his phone. He looked up and saw Leeteuk looking at him reproachfully. Sungmin meekly titled his head in apology and sunk into the armchair.
Leeteuk waved his hand dismissively. However, he kept his eyes open and continued to watch Sungmin surreptitiously.
“Ryeowook-ah!” Sungmin chirped happily when Ryeowook picked up his cell phone.
“Hyung?” Ryeowook replied uncertainly. “What’s wrong?”
Sungmin giggled. “It should be what’s right, Wook-ah!”
Ryeowook let out a knowing sigh. “I’m dreading to hear what you’re going to say next, hyung. Let me guess; it has to do with Yesung-hyung.”
“And…?” Sungmin rocked back and forth on his chair, unable to contain his excitement.
“You…” Ryeowook paused. “You shut him in a cubicle and had your way with him.”
Sungmin giggled once more. “Wookie-ah, do you really think I would do such a thing?”
“Yes.” Ryeowook’s answer came swiftly.
“Do you think I would really do that, Wook-ah?” Sungmin asked yet again, amused at decisiveness in the eternal maknae’s tone.
“Yes, but I wouldn’t hold it against you, hyung,” Ryeowook said. He understood Sungmin's overzealousness and he knew that Sungmin had little self-control when it came to Yesung.
“That definitely crossed my mind, but I did something else!” Sungmin laughed. “I touched him!”
There was no sound on the other line other than Ryeowook’s soft breathing. Then, Ryeowook said, in a rather skeptical tone, “Just touched him?”
Sungmin bit his lip, crinkling his nose in thought. “Well... During our performance, I stroked his torso.”
“H-Hyung!” Ryeowook sputtered on the other end. “You did what?” Sungmin winced; Ryeowook’s voice was getting a tad too loud for his eardrum so he held his phone slightly away from his ear.
“I stroked his torso," Sungmin repeated casually. "And part of his thigh. He seemed to like it.”
There were several strangled sounds on the other end, making Sungmin question if what he just did was wrong. He personally saw nothing wrong with it; it was like fanservice yet it wasn't really directed towards the fans but instead, it was for his own benefit. Yesung definitely enjoyed it, so Sungmin really didn’t understand why Ryeowook was so agitated.
“Hyung,” Ryeowook said quietly. “Please don’t tell me that you just molested Yesung-hyung.”
“But you can’t consider it molest if he liked it, Wook-"
“Kyuhyun,” Yesung hissed into the cell phone as soon as the cubicle door was shut.
“You’re calling me and Ryeowook’s talking to Sungmin-hyung at the same time, what a coincidence,” Kyuhyun smoothly answered.
Yesung growled before snapping, “I have a problem.”
“What is it now? What on earth did Sungmin-hyung do to you?” Kyuhyun inquired calmly.
“Min...” Yesung hesitated, for he knew that he would most definitely sound dumb. “He touched me.”
Kyuhyun didn’t even bother to hold back his disdainful snort. “He touched you? And what’s wrong with that? Does his touch turn your affected appendage into gold?”
Yesung looked down at his lap and let out a disgruntled sigh. “Not like that, but he affected one of my appendages in a...different way, so to speak.”
There was a slight pause on the other end. Yesung bit his lip in embarrassment, regretting ever telling Kyuhyun about his problem. He was about to mutter a rushed apology when Kyuhyun finally spoke up.
“So…you got turned on?” Kyuhyun replied.
Yesung replied defensively, “But I couldn’t help it! Min was practically molesting me onstage!”
There was shuffling on the other end of the line, and Yesung breathed in and out deeply as he waited for Kyuhyun’s reply.
“Hey hyung, are you there? Or is this some random stranger breathing heavily into the phone?”
“It’s me, I’m here,” Yesung answered hastily.
“I know how to solve your problem, hyung,” Kyuhyun said coolly. Yesung clenched his phone tighter and brought it closer to his ear.
“Well, what is it?” Yesung groaned impatiently.
“I play Sungmin-hyung’s recording and in a few minutes, your little problem will be solved.”
After approximately ten seconds, Yesung fully registered Kyuhyun’s suggestion in his brain. “WHAT?” Yesung hissed furiously. “You want me to do what?!”
Yesung could feel Kyuhyun shrugging on the other side of the phone. “It’s fast, it’s effective; what more do you want?”
Yesung could only groan in frustration. Burying his face with his free hand, Yesung shook his head despairingly and mumbled incomprehensibly.
“I was only trying to help, hyung.” Came Kyuhyun’s slightly apologetic voice.
“I know, Kyuhyun-ah, I know," Yesung said good-naturedly. "But you know what? I think I needed to talk to someone to get my mind off my problem. And you definitely helped me there.”
“Glad you came to me then, hyung,” Kyuhyun’s voice perked up.
Yesung smiled, making a mental note to thank the maknae when he got back to the dorm. “Well, I’ll see you later, Kyu. Bye.”
Yesung snapped his cell phone shut and stood up slowly. He undid the lock and pushed open the cubicle door. Shuffling towards one of the restroom sinks, he turned on the tap and started to splash his face, hoping that the cold liquid would force some sense into him.
He turned off the faucet and pushed his soaked fringe back tiredly. As he spun around towards the exit, he came face to face with Kangin, who was wearing an unreadable expression. Kangin took in Yesung's disorientated state quietly, making the latter tense up uncomfortably.
“Youngwoon-ah!” Yesung greeted faintly. “Why are you here?”
Kangin didn’t answer. Yesung coughed awkwardly and his gaze fell to his shoes. Finally, after what felt like a lifetime to Yesung, Kangin spoke.
“What were you doing in there, hyung?
Yesung unconsciously took a step back. “I was just talking to Kyuhyun. I told him to feed my turtles for me,” Yesung said in his best indifferent tone. In his mind, he was silently praying that Kangin would just swallow his white lie.
“Right. Right.” Kangin nodded his head solemnly. “But I don’t see why you had to be so secretive about it, hiding in the restroom cubicle just to do that.”
“I had a stomachache, remember?” Yesung offered weakly, rubbing his stomach as an afterthought.
Despite Sungmin's distressing action during the performance, Yesung didn't protest when Sungmin asked if he could sit next to him in the van on their journey back to their dormitory. However, he resolutely gazed out the van window and didn't attempt any conversation with Sungmin.
Sungmin understood that he shouldn't disturb Yesung. Hence, he simply leaned against Yesung's arm and wrapped his own arms around Yesung's in a slack grip. Closing his eyes, he soon fell asleep and his grip became even slacker.
Yesung glanced at Sungmin's hands once he was certain that Sungmin had fallen asleep. Sighing slightly, his gaze moved to Sungmin's serene face and then back to the highway yet again.
You're really something, Min. I wonder; how do you really feel about me?
Leeteuk and Kangin were assembled in the kitchen, the both of them leaning against the countertop. Leeteuk cast Kangin a meaningful look and Kangin shrugged in response.
"I went to look for Jongwoon-hyung like you asked me to," Kangin said.
Leeteuk nodded his head, before prompting him. "And?"
"I overheard him talking to Kyuhyun. I couldn't make out most of Jongwoon-hyung's speech but I'm certain that he mentioned Sungmin's name a couple of times."
Leeteuk frowned. "I watched Sungmin chat animatedly on his cell phone. I don't know the content of his conversation or whom he was talking to but I have a feeling it's about Yesung."
"About Jongwoon-hyung?" Kangin uttered confusedly. "What makes you so sure, Teukie-hyung?"
"Youngwoon, remember the fanservice that Sungmin performed with Yesung earlier?"
Kangin nodded, but the bemused expression didn't leave his face. "What about it?"
"Well, I believe that there's more to it than we think," Leeteuk concluded seriously.
I just realised that Kyuhyun calls Ryeowook by his name and doesn't add an honorific. I'm so fail. OTL And Sungmin's 'distressing action' was inspired by this picture. XD I really can't decide whose face is more epic: Yesung's or Sungmin's. 8DDD
And yay for erratic updating! 8D Actually, I've noticed my friends are in some crappy moods so I've decided to post this early and focus on drawing some stuff for them, in hopes of cheering them up! So, I can't really say when I'll be updating lol cause I'm not sure.
(I've already drawn one here! If you want to see my fail fanart, then go ahead lol.)
Also, Sungmin invaded my dreams yesterday and I took it as a sign to post this early. RyeoMin and KiMin... WHAT WHAT WHAT. And I'm sure there were some more Min pairings but I was kinda traumatised by RyeoMin and KiMin to remember them. ;_______;
Okay, I'll stop rambling now. ._____.
Wait, I forgot something: Comments are appreciated! (:
